In the past couple of weeks, we have been going for short walks around the block with the tamariki to collect rubbish, to educate our tamariki of different ways to take care of the community/environment, especially our papatuanuku.
This morning the tamariki and kaiako decided to do the same in our centre’s front yard. This helped to develop the tamariki perspective on their role as guardians of the earth. We wanted to collect treasure but it turned out to be both rubbish collection and collection of treasure as well.
